The successful design and installation of a Smart City system in the upper northern region under the jurisdiction of Provincial Police Region 5 – Phase 1 covers 4 provinces: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, and Mae Hong Son. With a total budget of 304 million baht, the project features a centralized camera management system with AI-powered video analytics software. It integrates more than 1,598 cameras, including both existing and newly installed ones—fixed cameras, body-worn cameras, and vehicle-mounted cameras. The AI system enables police officers to quickly access information, respond to incidents, and conduct investigations efficiently. Key functions include License Plate Recognition, Criminal Mapping, Traffic Enforcement, and Smart Search.
In emergency situations, the AI system within the Smart City project plays a vital role in communication and data retrieval between the public and police officers. It allows for rapid response and efficient assistance to the public, effectively reducing losses.
